Parents and Sleep

Did You Know?

Parents love to sleep!

They enjoy resting for as long as four or five hours in a row.

They are absolutely so lazy they would probably continue to sleep until they were no longer tired.

If it were up to them, they would sleep every night.

A tired Parent is a cranky Parent. You might be tempted to upgrade your model, so this is a good time to mention that, unfortunately, there is not (yet) a Parental model that does not need sleep. Your best options is to give them a couple hours here and there. Obviously, this is inconvenient, but we think you’ll find the reward of a more cheerful, eager to serve parent well worth the sacrifice.

Here are some ideas for helping a Parent get the rest it needs:

·      Most importantly: Do not restrict Parents’ air flow. Parents need to breath in order to stay asleep. Your occasional nightly desire to sleep on their face inhibits this action, which leads either to them waking up or them never waking up.

·      Do your best to not need assistance more than once every two hours. This means sometimes lifting your own water glass, pulling up your own socks, tucking in your own stuffed animal (again), placing your binky in your own mouth, etc.

·      Even though your Parent sometimes looks adorbs while they’re sleeping, expressing affection can wake them. Try to refrain from (re)placing a binky in their mouth, stroking their face, pinching their cheeks, or (again) sleeping on their head.
